Medical tests of nearly half of Hajj pilgrims completes

Latest measures regarding the upcoming Hajj and Umrah trips were reviewed at the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.

According to the Hajj information base, the meeting of Planning and Coordination Council of Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization was held Monday under the chairmanship of Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab. The latest measures regarding Hajj 1403 and Umrah trips were reviewed at the meeting.


Chairman of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center of the Red Crescent Society announced at this meeting the completion of medical tests of about half of the 81,958 pilgrims and said that more than 15,700 cases are under investigation.


Stating that 376 people have been introduced to the medical commission for further checking, Dr. Ali Marashi said: "More than 24,600 people have not been examined yet.


Regarding the supply of medicines needed in Hajj, he said according to the purchases made from domestic pharmaceutical companies, the items and equipment will be completed within the next few days and since yesterday, the allocation of vaccines to the provinces is being done according to the provincial quotas.


At the meeting, which was attended by the chairman, deputies and several managers of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Supreme Leader Delegation Office, Supreme Leader's representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage affairs emphasized on informing people about the activities and measures taken for the upcoming Hajj and efforts done to fulfill the rights of pilgrims of Hajj 1402. He also emphasized on the weakness in providing services by some contracting companies in the host country.


Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Seyed Abbas Hosseini also called for faster action in some provinces to complete the hajj 1403 tests and to provide the basis for obtaining visas within the announced deadline.


In the continuation of the meeting, deputy of Hajj and Pilgrimage organization in Hajj and Umrah affairs Mr. Gholamreza Rezae reported on the follow-ups carried out in the areas of housing, transportation, flight, food, and logistics. He also reported on the provision of 100% housing needs in Mecca and Medina and emphasized the number of hotels in Mecca has decreased by 23 percent compared to the previous year, which is due to the concentration of pilgrims in large hotels.
