Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri: Al-Baqi Should Be Introduced As International Brand to World

The head of Qom Seminary's Instructors' Association stated that al-Baqi has a special honor as a place, adding that Baqi is one of the most important places in the Islamic world and should be presented as a symbol at the international level. "Al-Baqi cemetery is related to our religious history and it is our identity heritage and Muslims respect this place from the past to the present day."

According to Hajj Information Base, Ayatollah Seyed Hashem Hosseini Bushehri, head of Qom Seminary Community today Thursday (April 30) at the world conference "al-Baqi; Burial of Imam and Companions which was held in the building of the Supreme Leader's representative in matters of pilgrimage and pilgrimage in Qom, while referring to the honor and dignity of Baqi compared to other Islamic holy places from the perspective of religious leaders and even from the perspective of the Holy Quran, added that the land of Al-Baqi with limits Geographically, 150 meters by 100 meters has its own place as a cemetery.

Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri said that just as some times are sacred in Islam, some places are also sacred, for example, the night of Qadr and the middle of Sha'ban have a special dignity, places are the same way, in Islam, places like Mecca and Atabat al-Aliat are also sacred and have a special dignity.

He added that one of the places that should not be looked at as just a cemetery is the al-Baqi cemetery, its prominent figures such as Shia imams and even the companions and relatives of the Prophet (PBUH) who had a special status are buried in this cemetery and this issue has given al-Baqi a special dignity.

The head of Qom Seminary Instructors' society by stating how al-Baqi cemetery was formed and raising the question why should we honor Baqi? stated that basically, the people of the world celebrate their past and national honors and their proud history, in many countries they even build memorials for their unknown soldiers or create a symbol to honor their honors so that these honors and memories remain from generation to generation. This is an important event in the countries and we should have the same view about the others.

Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri continued that pilgrimage is basically creating a relationship between the pilgrim and the pilgrim, because the pilgrim tries to associate himself with the pilgrim, when he visits the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ali(AS) and other Ahlul Bayt (AS) a spiritual relationship is established between the pilgrim and the deceased, and "we remember the buried person and his actions and therefore, valuing others is also in our own interest.

Among the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), Baqi has been a place for prayer and supplication

The head of Qom seminary teachers' society emphasized: Looking at the life of the Prophet (PBUH), Hazrat Zahra (SA), Imam Ali (AS) and Ahl al-Bayt (AS), we see that they used to pray, supplicate and ask for forgiveness in al-Baqi' and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) ) prayed for rain in this place, which shows the importance of this place.

He added: Regarding the importance of Baqi', we have that Gabriel goes to the Prophet (PBUH) in the middle of Sha'ban and tells him why you slept on this important night. These cases show that al-Baqi' has sanctity from God.

Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri reminded: This question is raised, does al-Baqi have a history before becoming a cemetery? With a little research, we can understand that the area of al-Baqi was inhabited by the people of Medina before it became a cemetery, which today is the burial place of the Ahl al-Bayt family. In fact, before it became a cemetery, Baqi was a place for people to live.

He emphasized the importance of al-Baqi cemetery: Regarding the first burials in this area, it can be said that one of the Ansar and one of the emigrants were buried in this area, and then the Prophet's son Ibrahim (AS) was buried in this place.

Al-Baqi is identity heritage of Muslims

The secretary of the Supreme Council of Seminaries stated that al-Baqi cemetery is considered one of the most important places in the Islamic world and should be presented as a symbol at the international level. In fact, al-Baqi cemetery should be related to our religious history and it is the heritage of our identity, and Muslims respect this place from the past to the present day.

He added that one of the actions of the Prophet (PBUH) was asking for forgiveness, especially on Friday nights. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to go to al-Baqi' on Friday nights and apart from praying and pilgrimage, he used to seek forgiveness in this place.

Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri said: The verse "Inna ma'a al-usr-e-Yusra" was revealed in Baqi', and even a part of the Sajjadiyah book was composed by Imam Sajjad (AS) in this place, and even a significant part of the hadiths were narrated by the infallible in this same al-Baqi'.
